Last updated: 26 October 2026

This English version is provided for information only. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.

1. Purpose

This policy explains how SINTEL collects and uses the personal data of candidates, representatives of client or prospective client companies, and visitors to the website www.sintel-recrutement.fr. It supplements our cookie policy. The data of employees and temporary workers who are hired is covered by separate information.

2. Data controller and contact

The data controller is SINTEL, a simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée) with share capital of €1,127,896, whose registered office is at 30 rue Médéric, 75017 Paris, France.

For any question about your data or to exercise your rights, please write to privacy@sintelrh.fr or by post to the address above.

SINTEL has not appointed a data protection officer.

3. Data we collect

  • Candidates: identity and contact details, CV, cover letter where applicable, experience, education, skills, languages, availability, position or field sought, as well as exchanges with our teams, information arising from interviews and, where necessary, professional references.
  • Companies: identity and business contact details of contact persons, company, job title, nature of the request and exchanges relating to recruitment needs.
  • Website visitors: technical connection and security data (IP address, device, browser), pages viewed and interactions. Data from audience measurement or advertising cookies is only collected with your consent.

When applying, there is no need to send us information unrelated to the position, in particular sensitive data (health, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership). If your CV contains such information, it is not taken into account.

4. Source of the data

The data mainly comes from you, when you apply, submit a CV, contact SINTEL or browse the website. It may also come from job boards, professional networks or referees you have named. When we obtain your data indirectly, we inform you within one month at the latest, or at our first contact with you.

5. Why we use your data and on what legal basis

  • Managing applications: reviewing CVs, assessing how well a profile matches a position, organising interviews and presenting candidates to client companies. Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and SINTEL’s legitimate interest in carrying out its recruitment activity (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Building a talent pool: keeping relevant profiles in order to offer you other opportunities. Legal basis: SINTEL’s legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)). You may object to this at any time.
  • Managing relationships with companies: responding to requests, managing the business relationship and contracts, and sending information about our services. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and SINTEL’s legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Running and securing the website: providing the service, protecting forms against abuse and complying with our legal obligations. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
  • Audience measurement and advertising: measuring the performance of the website and our campaigns and, if you agree, showing you adverts relevant to the job offers you have viewed. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).

Sending a CV does not amount to consent to targeted advertising: your cookie choices are independent of your application.

6. Mandatory information

Fields marked as mandatory in the forms are required to process your application or request. Without them, it cannot be completed. All other information is optional.

7. Recipients of the data

  • The SINTEL team responsible for recruitment, client relations and website administration, within the limits of their duties.
  • Client companies concerned by a specific job offer: your application is only passed on to them with your agreement. They are responsible for how they use it.
  • Our service providers, solely for the purposes of their engagement: A Small Orange LLC (HostNine, website hosting), Microsoft (Microsoft 365 email), Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager and reCAPTCHA), as well as providers responsible for website maintenance, digital marketing and recruitment support (pre-selection and interviews), some of whom work from Hong Kong. The application and form modules (WP Job Openings, WPForms) and the consent management tool (Complianz) are installed on the website: the data they collect is stored on the website’s server.
  • Authorities legally entitled to receive it, where required by law.

SINTEL does not sell your personal data.

8. Retention periods

  • Applications and CVs, including speculative applications and the talent pool: twelve (12) months after our last contact with you, after which they are deleted.
  • Contact requests: twelve (12) months after the last exchange.
  • Client company data: for the duration of the contractual relationship, then archived for the applicable statutory limitation periods.
  • Connection and security logs: twelve (12) months maximum.
  • Cookies: as set out in the cookie policy.

Where necessary to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights, certain data may be archived separately, with restricted access, for the applicable limitation period. It is then no longer used for recruitment.

9. Cookies, audience measurement and advertising

On your first visit, a banner lets you accept, refuse or customise non-essential cookies. You can change your choices at any time using the “Manage consent” link on the website.

Cookies necessary for the operation of the website, the forms and security do not require your consent. With your consent, Google Analytics measures website traffic, and Google Ads measures the effectiveness of our campaigns and may show you SINTEL adverts, for example after you have viewed job offers.

The forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which sends Google technical information (IP address, browser data, interactions) in order to detect automated submissions.

Refusing audience measurement or advertising cookies does not prevent you from viewing job offers or applying. For details of the cookies, their purposes and their lifespan, please see our cookie policy.

10. Hosting and transfers outside the European Union

The website is hosted by A Small Orange LLC (HostNine), on a server located in Amsterdam (Netherlands), within the European Economic Area (EEA).

However, some data may be transferred to or accessed from outside the EEA:

  • in the United States, by Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager, reCAPTCHA) and Microsoft (email). These companies are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection.

You can obtain a copy of the safeguards in place by writing to the address given in Article 2.

11. Security

SINTEL implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data: access restricted to authorised persons, encrypted connections, access rights management, regular website updates and protected backups.

12. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict its processing and, where the conditions are met, the right to data portability. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interest and, at any time and without giving reasons, to direct marketing and to your profile being kept in our talent pool. You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal. You may also set out instructions regarding what happens to your data after your death.

To exercise your rights, please write to privacy@sintelrh.fr. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask you for proof of identity. We will reply within one month; this may be extended by two months if the request is complex, in which case we will let you know.

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, the French data protection authority): www.cnil.fr.

13. Automated decision-making and profiling

SINTEL does not take any decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects for candidates: every application is reviewed by a member of our team. With your consent, some browsing data may be used to build advertising audiences (see Article 9).

14. Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the website, our services or the regulations. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. In the event of a significant change, we will inform you by appropriate means.
